Piet Klop appointed as head of PGGM Responsible Investment
He succeeds Hans Op ’t Veld, who will be focusing on the further expansion of the Sustainable Development Investment Asset Owner Platform (SDI AOP), of which PGGM is one of the founders.
Klop (56), who has already served in this position as an interim manager recently, has worked at PGGM since 2011 and was previously affiliated to the World Resources Institute in Washington. He heads a team of 15 members who advise Pensioenfonds Zorg en Welzijn in the field of responsible investment, support PGGM investment teams in environmental, social and governance (ESG) matters and conduct shareholder dialogues with portfolio companies.
Klop sees the main challenge for PGGM Investment Management in the coming years as defining the social impact of investments and incorporating this into the investment process.
