Jouw rol

In the role of product owner, you have a clear vision of the product/service and you map out the various needs of stakeholders. You discuss with them and your team how these needs fit within the current backlog. Connecting the team, stakeholders and the organization is something you like to work on. You participate in scrum meetings with the team. You know exactly what is going on with the customer and how this fits in with the vision of the product/service. This is where you convert requests into user stories with clear acceptance criteria.

The Product Owner is supported in his/her work by a Scrum master and/or agile coach and works together with the IM IT team lead.

 

As Product Owner

  • You are the point of contact for the business and other stakeholders within different levels in the PGGM organization, and responsible for services and products delivered in accordance with agreements;
  • You have a clear vision of the service as it is now and as it should be and know how to convey this vision to all stakeholders;
  • You operate within the organization on both a strategic and tactical level;
  • Develop, manage and continuously improve multiple services and products with your agile team and suppliers via the product backlog.
  • Collaboration with other Product Owners, IM IT team leads and Agile teams is extremely important;
  • You map out the different needs of stakeholders (both business and IT) and discuss how these needs fit within the current backlog and have a decisive say in this. You are mandated to prioritize both the run and the change.

Jouw afdeling binnen PGGM

PGGM manages the pension administration for 5.6 million Dutch people, with assets under management of almost 250 billion euros. The Product Owner is part of IM Operations and reports to the Chief Transformation Officer. Within IM Operations, the Staff team supports the Investment Management organization in achieving their goals and realizing the IM 3D ambitions. As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for the IM IT Data Infrastructure team and the IM IT Data Solutions team. These teams support the business with its data-driven information needs. They are responsible for developing and optimizing the data platform and providing data solutions for the business. Both teams consist of approximately ten FTEs with the functions of DevOps engineers, business analyst(s), project manager(s) and team lead. You work closely with the business you represent and the other Product Owners. 

Jouw achtergrond

Are you a driven Investment Management professional who can set clear frameworks for the teams based on strategic objectives? Are you good at bridging the gap between business and IT? And do you have extensive experience with Agile working and DevOps teams in a financial institution? Then this role might be something for you!

 

 Skillset of the Product Owner

  • Is able to inspire people, realize product vision and can maneuver smartly between different interests, needs and stakeholders;
  • Enjoys working in a dynamic work environment where continuity, change and innovation are high on the agenda;
  • Understands that run and change are inextricably linked and important for long-term success;
  • Is enterprising in continuous improvement and is able to take a clear stand;
  • Is analytically strong and likes to work with facts, and uses this to substantiate;
  • Knows how to translate business issues into IT requirements;
  • Can switch well between strategy and vision on the one hand and day-to-day operations on the other;
  • Is empathetic and can connect well
  • Is proactive, decisive, collaborative, result-oriented and knows how to convince others.

 

Expertise of the Product Owner

  • HBO/WO (Bachelor/Master) level, preferably with an IT-related education.
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience within Asset Management
  • Knowledge of Asset Management processes and products
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes

 

 Preferred

  • Experience with Agile working and DevOps teams within a financial institution
  • Experience with and knowledge of IT departments and IT processes
  • Cloud infrastructure (Azure) and networking.
  • Data infrastructure: Experience with Snowflake, SQL databases, DBT and/or ETL processes
  • DevOps and automation: Basic knowledge of CI/CD, infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform)
  • Certified PSPO I

  • A position with guaranteed social impact;
  • A gross monthly salary between € 5.618 and € 9.500,-, based on 36 hours, depending on your knowledge and experience;
  • A gross monthly salary in scale 17 or 18 of the Collective Labour Agreement for BMO, determined by experience.
  • A 36-hour working week with flexible working hours;
  • A good pension scheme as a member of the PFZW pension fund (71% paid by PGGM, 29% by the employee);
  • An annual Fit for the Future budget of €300 with which you can improve your mental, physical or financial fitness;
  • A large training budget for internal and external training or courses;

  • More than 27 vacation days (employees have the option to exchange up to two national Christian holidays for one day that is important to them);

  • A net internet allowance of €37.50 per month (€450 per year);
  • A group discount on supplementary insurance (21% in 2024) and dental insurance (15% in 2024);
  • A working from home arrangement with an allowance of up to EUR 900 including VAT to set up your home office ergonomically.
