Lars Dijkstra will join Board of Directors of Investment Management at PGGM on June 1st, 2024

Lars Dijkstra (58), who joined PGGM as interim Chief Investment Officer on February 1st this year, has been appointed as statutory director in the Board of Directors of PGGM Vermogensbeheer BV from June 1st  2024. This Board is chaired by Chief Investment Management Geraldine Leegwater.

Lars currently leads front office investment teams who are active on global public and private markets managing assets for Pensioenfonds Zorg en Welzijn (PFZW). He succeeds Frank Roeters van Lennep who left PGGM at the end of 2023.

Dijkstra’s primary responsibility will be to further develop the ‘3D investment strategy’ together with PFZW. This strategy aims to be able to explain the entire investment portfolio of PFZW in terms of financial returns, risks and sustainability in 2030.

Dijkstra: ,,The Strategy 2030 of PFZW and PGGM demands a transformation of culture within PGGM Investment Management, a different allocation of capital and an investment focus on impact on climate and health, the two impact themes central to PFZW’s investment policy. PGGM has lots of capabilities to contribute to this strategy, both on public markets as through its special private markets platform.’’

Geraldine Leegwater: ,,Lars has the knowledge, experience and drive to help us implementing the 3D investment philosophy and we are very happy he will commit himself to the PFZW-PGGM strategy as a new member of the Board of Directors. Earlier in his career, Lars Dijkstra (58), was Chief Sustainability Officer at Van Lanschot Kempen and prior to that Chief Investment Officer at the same company. Before that he worked for Philips Pensionfund.
